Jones wins Point half-marathon

Richard Jones again showed why he is considered to be the new king of local long-distance running, when he beat last year’s Clico Marathon champion, Curtis Cox, in the 16th annual Point Fortin Borough/Atlantic LNG half-marathon. Jones completed the course in one hour seven minutes and seven seconds.

Baptiste breaks T&T 100 metres record

Kelly Ann Baptiste became T&T’s fastest woman ever, over 100 metres, when she won the College Women’s 100m title at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, USA.

 A student at Louisiana State University, Baptiste won in 11.10 seconds, erasing the national record set by Fana Ashby in 2004 (11.12).

Texas’ Marshevet Hooker was second in 13.07, followed by Baptiste’s team-mate Brooklyn Morris (11.40).
