Richard Thompson and Giselle Salandy were the recipients of the 2008 First Citizens Sports Foundation Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year award at Wednesday night’s function, which took place in Queen’s Hall, St Ann’s.

Thompson and Salandy were joined in the list of Top Ten Sporting Personalities of the Year by sprinter Kelly-Ann Baptiste, footballer Jason Scotland, body-builder Tamara Ribiero-Bailey, cyclist Christopher Sellier, drag racer Sheldon Bissessar, cricketer Anisa Mohammed, power-lifter Ronald Greene and swimmer George Bovell III.
